Pick a university and see the buildings around it, with the walk or the ride to campus on every one.
Use these established student areas as starting points, then compare each property's rent and route to your university.
Areas students actually take rooms in, with the buildings closest to each one. Matched by location, so a building appears under the area it stands in rather than the area its marketing claims.
The best-known University of Nottingham student area, between University Park and the city centre. Shared houses fill the streets around Lenton Boulevard, while Jubilee Campus is close to the northern side.
West of University Park with a high street, supermarkets and its own railway station. It suits the western side of campus, but check the exact walk because the university grounds are large.
The simplest base for NTU City Campus, shops and the main railway station. Most of the managed student buildings are here, with tram and bus links out towards the other campuses.
Just north of NTU City Campus around the park. The walk to lectures is short and the housing mixes converted terraces with managed student buildings.
Between the city centre and Jubilee Campus, generally less polished than Lenton and useful for students who want a direct route to either side.
Places students in Nottingham actually use. We have no arrangement with any of them.
Free study desks, public computers and Wi-Fi beside the Broad Marsh development, close to the railway station and central student buildings.
The main arts and social sciences library on University Park. It is open around the clock for much of term, with access controlled by university card.
The network links the centre with University Boulevard, University of Nottingham and Clifton. Student tickets are available, but buy or validate before boarding.
A local public library between Lenton and Radford, useful when campus study spaces are busy.

A city-by-city note about the decisions that change your daily routine. Prices and availability remain live in the listings above.
Nottingham rewards students who choose by campus before choosing by postcode. Nottingham Trent University's City Campus sits beside the centre, while its Clifton Campus is south of the city and Brackenhurst is near Southwell. The University of Nottingham is arranged differently: University Park and the Medical School are west of the centre, with Jubilee Campus about a mile north of University Park. A student room in central Nottingham can therefore be a short walk to NTU City but a daily bus or tram journey to another campus. Start with where your course is taught, then compare the route, room and full contract cost.
Room types, what bills included really covers, when to book, and what to check if you are arriving from abroad.

Nottingham's tram and bus network can connect the centre with both university corridors, but the useful line depends on your campus. Tram stops serve the University of Nottingham side of the city and continue towards Clifton, while NTU City is already walkable from central accommodation. NTU also describes regular bus connections between the city and Clifton, with Brackenhurst much farther from the centre. Check the stop closest to your actual teaching building, the service at the time your classes finish and the walk at both ends. A route that looks direct on a map may still be a poor fit if it needs a change or runs less often in the evening.
