Pick a university and see the buildings around it, with the walk or the ride to campus on every one.
Use these established student areas as starting points, then compare each property's rent and route to your university.
Areas students actually take rooms in, with the buildings closest to each one. Matched by location, so a building appears under the area it stands in rather than the area its marketing claims.
Coventry University is built through these streets, so a room here is often nearer your lecture than a campus hall would be. Far Gosford Street is the old end, independent shops wedged among the new build.
The closest housing to the University of Warwick, with the Cannon Park shops and a railway station at Canley. Suburban and quiet, and the reason you can skip the bus.
Warwick students who want somewhere with a life of its own come here, on and around Earlsdon Street. Further from campus than Canley and far better supplied with pubs, cafes and a reason to stay in on Saturday.
East of the centre, the cheapest streets still inside walking range of Coventry University. Terraced and mixed, and close enough to the ring road that you hear it.
The far side of Warwick's campus, with its own station on the Birmingham line. Green, genuinely quiet, and you will want a bike.
Places students in Coventry actually use. We have no arrangement with any of them.
Free public study space in the city centre, a short walk from Coventry University and the main central student buildings.
Cinema, theatre, music and galleries on the University of Warwick campus, useful even when your course is based elsewhere on the site.
The largest central green space, between Earlsdon and the railway station and on the route towards Warwick's campus.
A practical alternative to the bus for students living near Canley or travelling between Coventry and Birmingham.

A city-by-city note about the decisions that change your daily routine. Prices and availability remain live in the listings above.
Start with the thing that catches people out: the University of Warwick is in Coventry. Its campus sits about three miles south west of the centre, on the city boundary, and the town of Warwick is a further ten miles away with no campus in it. Coventry University is the other way entirely, built into the middle of the city around the cathedral. Those two facts are most of what you need to pick an area here, and getting them the wrong way round means a daily bus you did not plan for.
Room types, what bills included really covers, when to book, and what to check if you are arriving from abroad.
Comparing options? These are the other cities in the UK where most students on our shortlist are basing themselves.
The 11 and 12 buses between the city centre and Warwick's campus are the route most students here actually use, and they run late. Allow twenty to thirty minutes for that trip at busy times of day. Canley and Tile Hill both have railway stations on the Coventry to Birmingham line, which is useful if you are at Warwick and want to avoid the bus. Coventry station itself reaches Birmingham in about twenty minutes and London Euston in an hour, and cycling works well across the city, which is flatter than most in the Midlands.
