Student Castle asks for advance rent at booking, with the amount set by the building. This is not confirmation of a separate damage deposit. If you pay but do not complete the booking and later cancel, the cancellation policy retains the lower of the advance payment and one week’s rent. The FAQ’s missed-acceptance wording says advance rent may be forfeited; clarify the applicable amount in the actual offer.

Book on Student Castle’s website, choose a room and pay the building-specific advance rent. The FAQ gives ten days to accept the offer, e-sign and upload documents; for bookings made within 14 days of the start, this may be shortened to 48 hours before commencement. Instalments normally need a guarantor. UK and international guarantors are accepted, but they cannot be another student or a government body. They must sign and provide ID/address evidence. Without a suitable guarantor, full advance rent or an independently approved Housing Hand arrangement may be possible; the service has its own eligibility and charges.

A completed, countersigned booking is binding.
