The published policy gives a seven-calendar-day initial cancellation period with the deposit refunded, subject to deposit-scheme processing. Afterwards, rent liability normally continues until an acceptable replacement tenancy takes effect or an applicable legal notice ends. The amount varies by building. The deposit is protected and cannot pay a rent instalment. Return follows the contract end and inspection, with outstanding charges or damage deducted under the agreement.
The FAQ specifies a £50 administration fee for an agreed student-loan deferral, paid with two weeks’ rent 14 days before the contract starts; only the rent is credited to the first instalment. Request this arrangement by 1 August with loan-schedule evidence. Confirm any building-specific charges.
